Today we had Abby's picture taken for her U.S. Visa and then headed to the medical clinic for her physical exam. She did great, a very brave girl! We will go back on Monday to have her TB test read.
We are beginning to see how mischievous Abby truly is! The word she knows best in English is "No". She hears that a lot. However, she is still quite the sweetheart.
Yesterday we had our guide tell her what her English name is, she said she liked it. She now refers to herself as Abby. When she sees herself in a picture she always points and says "Abby". We are using that name now, if we call her and she does not come we will then call her Huang Fu to get her attention. She is like a little parrot, we will point to something and say the English name and she repeats us. She can say Mommy, Baba/Daddy, Taylor, Andrew, Carrie Anne, J.C., no, hi, potty(a very important word!!), eat, and water. Today she also said her first English phrase: let's go bye-bye. We are all getting pretty good at acting. If she does not know a word she just acts it out to get her point across.
We gave her a piece of paper to draw on today and she started folding and cutting and 15 minutes later she had created a really neat origami. We were all very impressed!
One very silly girl!
It looks like everyone is adjusting well. Keep the photos coming and counting down the days until I can see you back in the states!
